Recipe for Pumpkin Oatmeal Dog cookies

Easy - D.I.Y. Dog Cookie recipe/Holiday treat idea

As every year the holidays roll around and our furry friends get left out when it comes to delicious treats. All too often do our dogs end up with table scraps that aren't so suitable for their tummy and then we get surprised when the adored pet needs to go out in the middle of the night. Because once again our fault. We screwed up and where not prepared. To avoid this scenario - I want to share with you my puppy's favorite new cookie recipe.

These cookies should be stored in the fridge in an airtight container after baking to avoid mold. You can turn them into a drop cookie or even roll them out and cut them into festive shapes for the holidays. With these cookies on hand you make sure everyone is having a good time and a good nights rest.

Here are the few ingredients which you can add to a food processor or just a bowl and kneed the dough until it comes together. I am giving you a small amount, so that you can try the delicious cookies first and see how big of a hit they are and adjust the recipe accordingly.

Preheat oven to 350 F

Combine all:

- 1 cup rolled Oats (preferred Organic/no glyphosate)

- 2 Tbsp. Extra Virgin Coconut oil

- 5 Tbsp. Pumpkin puree (Organic)

- 1 Tbsp. Turmeric powder

- 2 Tbsp. Peanut butter or either 1 Egg or 1 ripe Banana (depending on preference and allergies)

Roll into a dough ball and if it is still crumbly add a bit of water until it stick together and you can shape the dough into cookies. You can roll the dough into balls and flatten into a cookie or roll it out and use fun cut outs and personalize the cookies.

Bake at 350 F for about 20 - 25 min. keep checking after 15 min. Every oven is different.

Have fun preparing these with your little furry friend and watch how fast they disappear.

From us to you!
